The Education Ministry in Karnataka has ordered an inquiry after a videotape showing scholars draining a schoolteacher went viral on social media.
A school teacher was assaulted by a group of scholars in an academy in Karnataka.
A video showing a group of scholars acting up with a schoolteacher and putting a tip on his head in Karnataka’s Davanagere quarter went viral on social media. An inquiry has now been ordered on the issue by the Education Ministry.
The videotape is purportedly from a government high academy at Nallur in Channagiri city of Davanagere quarter. The incident took place on December 3. The videotape shows one of the scholars trying to assault the schoolteacher with a tip. Latterly, a pupil puts the tip on the head of the schoolteacher when he starts tutoring in the class.
Replying to the incident, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education BC Nagesh said in a tweet,” Assault on schoolteacher by scholars at an academy in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere quarter can not be permitted. Education Department and police probing the matter. Instructed to take applicable action. We will always be with preceptors.”

. According to a report in Deccan Herald, the schoolteacher said he saw gutka packets littered on the bottom when he entered the classroom. He asked the scholars to maintain discipline. When he started tutoring, some of them started creating a nuisance.
