Why is Republic Day celebrated?

Let me tell you that at the Lahore Congress session on 26 January 1929, a proposal was made to grant full Republic status to India.

However, at that time the British rejected this proposal of the Congress session. After this, on 26 January 1930, Congress declared India a full republic. At the same time, the constitution was started on 9 December 1946, whose construction took a total of 2 years 11 months 18 days.

After the constitution was enacted, Samiti handed over the constitutional chairman on 26 November 1949. After which, Republic Day started on 26 January 1950 officially implementing the Constitution. Let us tell you that this day was chosen as Republic Day because on 26 January 1929, for the first time, the proposal of the full republic was presented to India.
