A discussion between the police and Karthik Pathri and his wife
The victim, Karthik Pathri, took to Twitter to share his sad experience with the Bengaluru Hoysala police last night.
Police said that no one can walk on the road after 11 pm. Shocked by the absurdity of the logic, we persisted: “Is there such a rule? We are not aware of it. Then he said “Educated people like you should be aware of such rules.
At this point, one of them took what looked like a challan book and started entering our name and Aadhaar number. Sensing trouble, we asked why we were being issued a challan.
The couple who defied the rule apologized and promised not to go out at night again. But the two policemen did not let him go and insisted that he should pay a fine of Rs.3000.
The police have started an investigation and the constable and head constable of Sampigehalli station have been suspended.
