Which Transports can travel for free?
All the women (girl students) and gender minorities of the state of Karnataka are free of charge in the transports of the four state transport bodies namely Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North West Karnataka State Transport Corporation (NWKSTC), and Kalyana Karnataka State Transport Corporation in the city (KKSTC), and regular and express buses across the state of Karnataka. The government of Karnataka has given administrative approval to implement this scheme for travel.

Dated 05-06-2023 by Karnataka State Government regarding free bus passes for women, Government has invited applications through Seva Sindhu Portal for Shakti Smart Card.
If you are a woman, then to be a beneficiary of this service, immediately submit an application on the Sewasindhu portal and get the following service for free.
- By showing the Shakti Smart Card issued under this Shakti Yojana, women, and gender minorities can travel free of cost by bus to any district of the state or from one region to another.
What is Shakti smart card?
Shakti Smart Card is a scheme launched by the newly formed Government of Karnataka. Through this scheme, women of the state of Karnataka can travel from any district of the state to another district or from one area to another area free of cost in regular and AS Express government buses by showing the Shakti Smart Card.
The Transport Department has been ordered by the government to start free buses for women across the state of Karnataka from June 11, 2023.
Terms and Conditions
- The scheme is applicable for intra-state travel only.
- This scheme is not applicable for luxury buses such as Rajahamsa Non AC Sleeper and Vajra Vayuvajra Airavata, Airavata Club Class, Airavata Gold Class, Ambari, Ambari Dream Class, Ambari Utsav, Fly Bus, ev Power Plus, AC buses.
