Vande Bharat Express Train Service Begins: Bengaluru to Ernakulam Schedule and Details

Bengaluru to Ernakulam: The Vande Bharat Express special train, which runs three days a week between Bengaluru and Kochi (Ernakulam) in Kerala, commenced operations on Thursday. The Bangalore Divisional Railway Manager shared a video of the train’s movement on social media. Here are the details of train travel time, ticket prices, and more.

Vande Bharat Express Train Service Begins Bengaluru to Ernakulam

Bengaluru, August 2: The new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Bengaluru and Kochi (Ernakulam) in Kerala began its journey from Ernakulam to Bengaluru Cantonment on August 1, marking the commencement of its service. Operated by Southern Railway, this train will ply between the two cities three times a week.

The Bangalore Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) released a video of the inaugural journey of the Bengaluru-Kochi Vande Bharat train on social media.

The thrice-weekly train numbered 06002 Vande Bharat Special Express, departs from Bengaluru Cantonment towards Ernakulam. In the video message, the Bengaluru DRM mentioned, ‘Here is the video of the train running near Kuppam.

Vande Bharat Travel Time

The 06001 Ernakulam-Bangalore Cantonment Vande Bharat Express Special Train departs from Ernakulam Junction (ERS) at 12:50 PM and arrives at Bangalore Cantonment Station at 10:00 PM.

The 06002 Bangalore Cantonment-Ernakulam Vande Bharat train departs from Bangalore Cantonment at 5:30 AM and arrives at Ernakulam Junction at 2:20 PM.

The Vande Bharat Express special train service will operate on the following days:

  • From Ernakulam: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
  • From Bangalore: Thursday, Saturday, Monday

Vande Bharat Express train will have stops at the following stations: 

  • Thrissur, 
  • Palakkad, 
  • Podanur, 
  • Tiruppur, 
  • Erode,
  • Salem.

Vande Bharat Ticket Price

Tickets for the new Vande Bharat train can be booked in advance through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website. The fare for the journey between Ernakulam and Bangalore is:

  • Rs 1,465 for the AC Chair Car
  • Rs 2,945 for the Executive Chair Car
