Parking problem at Baiyappanahalli Metro Station, Commuters Struggle
Bangalore: In Bengaluru, one of Namma Metro’s Baiyappanahalli metro station, has commuters struggling without parking facilities. Due to tussles between contractors and metro authorities, people are struggling. The parking system for vehicles has been locked at Baiyappanahalli metro station for two weeks.
There is a situation where one has to park the two-wheeler, and cars and travel in the metro. A formal agreement has not been advanced between BMRCL and the parking contractor. Prajavani reported that passengers are struggling.
A total of more than 280 two-wheelers, dozens of cars, and cycles were parked at this station where passengers were on their way to their destinations. The term of the contractor who took over the management of the space has expired.

It has come to know that in the tender called by BMRCL, another company got the contract and deposited half of the money and the rest of the process has not been completed.
So there is no match between the contractor and Namma Metro. Due to this, the parking gate has been locked. One can easily come from one side and go to the other side in the ‘U’ shaped parking space. But BMRCL has used the space towards a gate. The public has suffered a lot due to the parking not being allowed.
The 2 km stretch between KR Puram and Baiyappanahalli, which was the connecting link of the Namma metro purple line which was left, is open for traffic. This has increased the number of commuters traveling to Whitefield. Most of the IT employees and the public used to park their vehicles at Baiyappanahalli station and go to work without any worries.
But in today’s situation, there is a situation where the car has to be parked on the side of the road or in front of the house. It has been learned that the passengers are worried about who is responsible for the vehicles. This situation will continue until the temporary parking bandh board installed at Baiyappanahalli is removed.
