When Will the Metro Yellow Line Be Operational?

Services on the Yellow Line were originally expected to begin in December 2024, but delays in the supply of driverless metro trains have pushed back the launch date.

A set of driverless metro trains recently arrived from China and underwent a successful test run. However, the unavailability of sufficient trains has hindered the line’s opening.

Efforts to Resolve Delays

Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya expressed his disappointment over the delays in a detailed statement. He attributed the delays to issues such as the unavailability of trains and other logistical challenges.

Surya shared updates on progress:

  • The first train will be unveiled on January 6, 2025, and delivered to Bengaluru.
  • The second train is expected by late January or early February, and the third by April.
  • From September 2025, two trains per month will be supplied.

Efforts are underway to expedite production and delivery, ensuring the Yellow Line begins operations as soon as possible.
