Street Vendor Zones in Western Bengaluru

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has directed officials to identify roads in Bengaluru’s western zone that are suitable for street vending. The initiative aims to regulate street vending activities while ensuring pedestrian safety.

So far, around 7,000 street vendors have been identified in the western zone. As part of this plan:

  • Roads where street vendors can operate will be identified.
  • Marked boundaries will be established on footpaths to prevent pedestrian inconvenience.
  • Temporary permissions will be granted until designated vending zones are fully established.

This balanced approach seeks to support street vendors while maintaining public order and accessibility.

Residents and organizations in Bengaluru can contribute to shaping the city’s future by sharing their ideas for the BBMP budget and ensuring sustainable urban development.
