Bengaluru, July 18: The work on the Namma Metro Yellow Line is almost complete. The driverless electrification metro (Namma Metro) is ready for service on the 19 km long RV Road-Bommasandra route.

BMRCL officials have announced good news for metro passengers, stating that the Yellow Line will start by the end of this year. Initially, a total of eight trains will be ready for service every 15 minutes, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said on Wednesday.

Earlier, BMRCL was preparing to start the Yellow Line service with six to seven trains running every 20 minutes. However, this plan has now been changed.

Major civil and systems works, costing Rs 5,745 crore, have been completed on this stretch connecting RV Road to Bommasandra. The 19.15 km route has 16 stops, including Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City.

Jayadeva Hospital, India’s tallest metro station at 39 meters, will be the interchange station. The junction has six levels, including an underpass, road, flyover, Yellow Line platform, concourse, and Pink Line platform.
