Bengaluru Techie, Wife Kill Kids, Die by Suicide
Bengaluru: A shocking case of suspected murder-suicide has emerged from Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, where a family of four was found dead in their rented home.
The deceased were identified as Anup Kumar (38), a software consultant, his wife Rakhi (35), their 5-year-old daughter Anupriya, and 2-year-old son Priyansh. The incident came to light when their house help arrived for work on Monday morning and, finding no response, alerted neighbours, who informed the police.
Police suspect the couple poisoned or smothered their children before hanging themselves. The exact cause of the children’s deaths will be confirmed in the autopsy report.

According to preliminary investigations, Anup Kumar had quit his job a month ago and was dealing with financial losses after being cheated in a failed investment. The family was also reportedly under emotional stress due to their elder daughter Anupriya’s special needs. Despite employing three staff members, including two cooks and a caregiver, the family appeared to be overwhelmed by their personal struggles.
The house help told the police that the couple seemed happy the night before and had even asked the staff to pack for a trip to Pondicherry. This sudden turn of events has left neighbours and friends shocked.
No suicide note was found at the scene, and the police are exploring all possible angles, including financial distress and mental health issues. The tragedy has highlighted the unseen pressures families often face and the devastating consequences they can have.
