High Court stay on allotment of BDA Sites in Shivaram Layout: For now, the High Court has placed a hold on the allotment of land in Shivram Karanta Layout and has issued an order to maintain the status quo. Restrictions have been imposed on not issuing notifications seeking applications for allotment of Sites. A bench comprising Justice Krishna S. Dixit and Justice Nagaprasanna was ordered.

Bangalore: There is currently no allotment of sites in the Shivaram Karantha Layout. The High Court has issued an order to maintain the status quo. Restrictions have been imposed on not issuing notification seeking applications for allotment of land. A bench consisting of Justice Krishna S. Dixit and Justice Nagaprasanna was ordered.

Consent has been given to continue the development work of Shivram Karanta Layout. Alleging the allotment of land by BDA without resolving the issues, many filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had transferred the petitions to the High Court.

For this reason, the background committee has kept the documents with the Shivram Karantha Layout Records Committee without handing them over to the BDA. The BDA argued that the key to the lock of the record room was with the committee. The bench directed the High Court Registrar General to put another lock and key in the room containing the documents.

In 2008, 3456 acres of land were acquired by BDA to construct Shivram Karanta Layout. However, the farmers who had given the land expressed their displeasure against the decision to give compensation in 2008, and even before the notification, those who constructed the building went to court.

Considering this, Supreme Court Justice Chandrasekhar has instructed to form a committee and settle the dispute. Accordingly, all the confusion that had arisen in the matter of the committee layout, which had been reviewed for three consecutive years, was eliminated.

The land of some politicians is in Shivaram Karanta layout and some are making plots. Authorities are not taking any action against them. In particular, it seems that some people, including influential ministers, are selling plots in benami names. However, the locals expressed outrage that they are targeting poor people who have only half an acre of land without giving them notice.
