But during this extra period M.G. The police department has instructed not to open the road station. The last train service which was at 11:30 PM every day has been extended to 2 AM on December 31. At this time, BMRCL informed that the metro train will run every 15 minutes.

As the police department has instructed that entry to MG Road metro station should be restricted after 11.30 pm for safety reasons, metro passengers traveling from MG Road during the extra period can go to Trinity or Cubbon Park metro stations.

50 rupees and a paper ticket will be issued to passengers from Trinity and Cubbon Park stations. Paper tickets must be obtained in advance of the day. There will be no ticket distribution at midnight. BMRCL officials said passengers with smart cards and QR code tickets can travel at discounted fares as usual.

During the New Year celebrations, a large number of people gather on Brigade Road and Church Street next to MG Road. Crowd control is difficult at the nearest metro station. It is said that the police have taken this step to avoid this problem.
