How to Apply for Gruha Jyothi Scheme in Karnataka
Step 1: Download the Gruha Jyothi APP from Play Store/Apple Store through the official link – [Link will be updated Soon].
Step 2: Register and log in to the APP using your name, address, contact details, Aadhaar card number, electricity details and etc.
Step 3: After login, select “Opt In”, The document should be uploaded in the ”Opt In” section.
Step 4: Those living in a rented house or own house should “‘Opt Out” while vacating the house
Step 5: If you move to a new house, you have to select ”Opt In” again, Submission of Documents is Mandatory.
Step 6: You can monitor your application status through this app.
Note: Griha Jyoti app is being prepared at BESCOM head office and will be available on the play store in a few days.
What are the documents required to submit an application for Griha Jyoti Yojana?
- Aadhar card.
- Rental Agreement [For those living in a rented house or Those who rent the house]
- Electricity bill with ID number

What is the Gruha Jyothi scheme in Karnataka?

As per the government order, if a household uses electricity not exceeding 200 units of electricity in the last 12 months, they can submit an application for this scheme and get this facility.
Terms and conditions applicable for availing Griha Jyoti Scheme
- It is mandatory to register in Grihajyoti App to avail the benefit of this scheme.
- Household electricity consumption should not exceed 200 units per month for the last 12 months.
- It is necessary to stay in a rented house for at least one year.
- Electricity is free only on the average basis of previous annual consumption.
- If there is more than one house, the scheme is applicable to one house only.
- If there are two meters then only one of them is covered by this scheme
