Step 1: Download the Gruha Jyothi APP from Play Store/Apple Store through the official link – [Link will be updated Soon].

Step 2: Register and log in to the APP using your name, address, contact details, Aadhaar card number, electricity details and etc.

Step 3: After login, select “Opt In”, The document should be uploaded in the ”Opt In” section.

Step 4: Those living in a rented house or own house should “‘Opt Out” while vacating the house

Step 5: If you move to a new house, you have to select ”Opt In” again, Submission of Documents is Mandatory.

Step 6: You can monitor your application status through this app.

Note: Griha Jyoti app is being prepared at BESCOM head office and will be available on the play store in a few days.

What are the documents required to submit an application for Griha Jyoti Yojana?

  1. Aadhar card.
  2. Rental Agreement [For those living in a rented house or Those who rent the house]
  3. Electricity bill with ID number

What is the Gruha Jyothi scheme in Karnataka?

Terms and conditions applicable for availing Griha Jyoti Scheme

  • It is mandatory to register in Grihajyoti App to avail the benefit of this scheme.
  • Household electricity consumption should not exceed 200 units per month for the last 12 months.
  • It is necessary to stay in a rented house for at least one year.
  • Electricity is free only on the average basis of previous annual consumption.
  • If there is more than one house, the scheme is applicable to one house only.
  • If there are two meters then only one of them is covered by this scheme
