BMTC Introduces Incentive Scheme to Tackle Staff Absenteeism: As per the new order of BMTC, a special allowance of ₹ 500 per month will be given to the driver staff who attend duty for 26 days without taking any kind of leave, excluding weekly holidays. Disciplinary action in that month.
Bengaluru (Jan.11): To solve the problem of providing adequate bus service due to the absence of driving staff, BMTC has decided to give special allowance to the driving staff who work without taking leave except for weekly leave.
The 6.8% of BMTC’s driving staff are on daily or long leave. BMTC is not providing adequate bus service due to the frequent leave of the driving staff.
According to corporation data, 44.27 lakh schedules have been canceled from April 2023 to October 2023 due to a lack of driving staff. Considering this seriously, it is proposed to give special allowance to the driver staff.
As per the new order of BMTC, a special allowance of ₹ 500 per month will be given to the driver staff who attend duty for 26 days without taking any kind of leave, excluding weekly holidays. Disciplinary action in that month.
In this regard, it has been suggested to submit the unit-wise list of drivers who have not received zonal leave to the Chief Traffic Manager before every month’s salary. Based on that, a special allowance amount is given to the wages of drivers who do not take leave.\
