Bangalore Airport has withdrawn entry charges for private and commercial vehicles
Bangalore Airport: In a surprising turn of events, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) scrapped its newly announced entry fee system for vehicles entering the airport premises. The move comes after facing immediate backlash from drivers, passengers, and social media users on Monday.
The proposed fee structure outlined charges for various vehicles based on their duration at the airport, sparking outrage for what many saw as an unreasonable expense for pickups and drop-offs. Reports described heated arguments between drivers and airport staff, with cab drivers planning protests demanding a rollback.

- Private Vehicles (Whiteboard): Rs 150 for 7-14 minutes (no charge for less than 7 minutes)
- Commercial Vehicles (Cabs): Rs 150 for up to 7 minutes, Rs 300 for more than 7 minutes
- Buses: 600 Rs
- Tempo passengers: Rs 300
Facing this public outcry, BIAL made a swift U-turn, revoking the entire entry fee plan. While BIAL has yet to issue an official statement, sources suggest the negative response played a significant role in the decision. This comes as a relief for flyers and drivers who use the airport.
According to sources, BIAL has now completely suspended the entry fee scheme, probably due to public outrage. BIAL has not issued any official statement regarding the cancellation.
