Bangalore-Mysore Expressway: It is necessary to prevent road accidents by curbing the speeding of vehicles on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway, so the police have collected huge fines from those who violate the speed limit by adopting this new technology.

The speed limit on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway has been reduced by 100 Km/ph due to the increasing number of road accidents, and it has been reported that a fine of ₹16 lakh has been collected by the police from violators of this rule and some other traffic violations in just 15 days.

It has been reported that the police, who have been operating on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway for the last two weeks, have collected more than ₹16 lakh rupees in the form of fines in just 15 days from those who violated highway traffic rules such as speeding, lane discipline, seat belt and not wearing helmets and other road rules.

Measures to prevent accidents on Bangalore- Mysore highways

This is a 6-lane expressway built at a cost of 8000 crores, and now the accidents are increasing day by day and the speed limit has been restricted to 100 Kmph to avoid accidents, as more than 20 people have died in accidents on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway in the last four to five months.

Also, more than 160 accidents have occurred since the inauguration of this one highway, and more than 55 people have lost their lives.

There were allegations of low road grip along with safety on this Bengaluru-Mysore highway, so Road Safety ADGP Alok Kumar conducted an inspection and submitted a report to the government,

The points of that Alok Kumar identified 55 accident zones and then took several steps like lowering the speed limit and installing speed breakers.

More than 2000 cases of violation of road rules

Due to the increasing number of road accidents on this highway, fines are being imposed on violators of road rules such as operations.

In this, 877 cases of driving beyond the limit, 580 cases of not having lane discipline, 189 cases of driving without wearing a seat belt, and 274 cases of driving without wearing a helmet have been recorded. A total of more than ₹16 lakhs has been collected from this.
