Bangalore Traffic Police has started a Training program for BMTC drivers in collaboration with BMTC.

Training Program for BMTC Drivers: BMTC bus accident cases are increasing in Bengaluru. BMTC bus drivers are also known as Yamadoots. Due to road potholes, violation of traffic rules, and negligent driving of BMTC bus drivers, the number of accidents in Bangalore city is increasing significantly.

Training Program for BMTC Drivers

Bengaluru, December 18: Many people died in BMTC bus accidents. Just last week, a woman was killed when a BMTC bus collided with a two-wheeler on the Madiwal flyover near Silk Board Junction. A BMTC bus collided with the bike of a couple traveling with a child. After the incident, the BMTC driver left the bus and ran away. A case was registered in this regard at the Madiwal police station.

Such cases are increasing day by day and Bangalore Traffic Police has joined hands with BMTC to prevent accidents. To curb the number of accidents in the city, Bangalore Traffic Police has started a driver training program in collaboration with BMTC. A total of 34 people died & 97 people were injured in BMTC bus accidents from January to November 2023.

According to senior BTP officials, 13,917 cases have been registered against BMTC drivers this year for traffic violations, costing the BMTC corporation Rs 1.04 crore under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Therefore, Bangalore Traffic Police has joined hands with BMTC to put a brake on all these mistakes. It is not our intention to file a case against BMTC drivers and collect fines. Bangalore Traffic Police will impart driving training to BMTC bus drivers to reduce road accidents in the city.

How to drive a bus on Bangalore roads. At the city’s traffic police command center, the traffic police will train fifty drivers daily on how to follow traffic rules and what measures to take to prevent accidents. In the training program, the traffic police impart information to the BMTC drivers about accident-free and safe driving skills.
