The Police arrested the accused for harassing a female techie in Bangalore

Bangalore: Jayanagar Police successfully apprehended Harish, the accused who had allegedly harassed a female software employee near South End Circle on the night of Nov 6. The victim, a technician from a software company near Kudlugate, was commuting home to Ashoka Nagar, Phase II, on a two-wheeler from her office in Banashankari.

Harish, who had been following the female technician on a bike, made his move in front of the DCP office at South End Circle. He allegedly attempted to tear her clothes and behaved indecently. The victim resisted, leading to a physical altercation during which Harish reportedly touched her inappropriately and verbally abused her. Harish managed to escape by taking a turn at the Kanakapura road circle, despite the victim’s shouts.

The victim promptly reported the incident to Jayanagar Police Station. In their investigation, the police reviewed footage from over 500 CCTV cameras around South End Circle. The victim provided a description of the accused—Harish, wearing a white shirt and hat, with a beard. The police traced the registration number of Harish’s bike through the CCTV footage, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Harish, a resident of Binnipet, was married and previously employed in a security agency. He had recently left his job and was actively seeking new employment, according to the police.
