Phoenix Mall of Asia has been temporarily closed from Dec 31 to Jan 15 by the Bangalore Police to ensure public safety and order.
Phoenix Mall of Asia Close from December 31 to January 15: Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. will close the Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bengaluru for 16 days from December 31 to January 15 ordered by Dayanand. In that context, the Commissioner has taken this step to maintain peace.
Bengaluru: City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda has ordered the Mall of Asia near Batarayanpura on Bellary Road to be closed for 16 days from Sunday. Due to this, the mall will be closed from December 31 to January 15 and entry to the public is prohibited.
Karnataka Defense Forum activists had recently protested against Phoenix Mall of Asia on the allegation that 60% of Kannada characters were not used in the nameplate. They also broke into the mall and ransacked it. In this background, the city police commissioner has issued this order to maintain public peace and maintain law and order in the mall.
Apart from this, a few days ago, the public protested against the Mall of Asia. He alleged that smooth traffic is not possible in this part due to the mall. Due to the lack of parking space in the mall, the public used to park their vehicles on the road and footpaths. Due to this traffic jam was a problem. In this background, citizens had complained about the mall.

Taking this seriously, the commissioner personally went to the mall and conducted an inspection. In addition, considering the report of the joint commissioner on traffic congestion, the report given by the DCP of the North-East Division regarding law and order, he has ordered the temporary closure of the Mall of Asia.
The Commissioner has imposed a curfew by restricting public access to the Mall of Asia for 16 days. However, mall staff and store staff may act. A senior police officer said extra police security had been provided around the mall as a precautionary measure.
